Position Overview

The Drywall Finisher is responsible for completing high-quality drywall finishing work on commercial construction projects. This role focuses on producing consistent Level 4 and Level 5 finishes while maintaining productivity, safety, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tape, mud, and finish drywall surfaces
  • Apply bed coats and skim coats to achieve smooth finishes
  • Install and finish corner bead
  • Prepare drywall surfaces for painting
  • Follow established procedures and quality standards for drywall finishing
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to meet production goals

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in the training and orientation of employees when needed
  • Assist in employment processes as requested
  • Promote teamwork and positive communication among employees
  • Attend and participate in miscellaneous site meetings, sharing knowledge and ideas

 

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

  • Work rapidly and accurately with hands
  • Calculate material quantities needed for work completion
  • Follow set procedures and quality standards
  • Interpret drawings or diagrams
  • Evaluate work against measurable standards
  • Work within precise limits and accuracy requirements
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Manage time effectively and respond to jobsite challenges
  • Work collaboratively with others in a positive manner
  • Maintain knowledge of and follow safety and health regulations
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of drywall finishing experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred 

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Work is performed on active construction sites and often outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, dampness, precipitation, and mud.

This role requires the ability to:

  • Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders
  • Reach, handle, and manipulate tools and materials
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods
  • Maintain adequate vision (with or without correction) to safely perform job duties
