Overview

Danis isn’t just a builder — we’re a team driven by purpose, integrity, and people-first values. With 100+ years of experience and a portfolio of complex projects across healthcare, life sciences, data centers, and industrial sectors, we’re known for doing things the right way — safely and collaboratively.

We’re looking for a Safety Manager who’s ready to lead from the field — not just enforce policies, but help create a culture where safety is embedded in everything we do. In this role, you'll oversee safety programs across high-impact projects, guide teams, mentor future safety leaders, and make sure every person goes home safely, every day. The Safety Manager reports to the Safety Director.

If you're a hands-on safety professional who leads by example and believes safety is about people — not just protocols — we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Lead safety efforts across active job sites, working closely with project teams to build customized safety plans that fit each project’s unique needs
  • Integrate safety into planning, partnering early in preconstruction to identify risks and influence logistics, phasing, and methods before work begins
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to spot hazards early, ensure compliance with OSHA and client requirements, and keep documentation audit-ready
  • Deliver training and toolbox talks that go beyond checklists — helping teams understand not just the “what,” but the “why” behind safety protocols
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, lead root cause analysis, and follow through with corrective actions that make a real, lasting difference
  • Mentor junior safety staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to build the next generation of safety leaders
  • Represent the safety team, acting as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies, and contributing to broader safety strategy

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Educational foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
  • Relevant experience: 5+ years of experience in a dedicated construction safety role
  • Preferred certifications: OSHA 500, CHST, OHST, ASP, CSP, or similar professional credentials
  • Field knowledge: Strong understanding of construction operations, safety standards, and best practices
  • Hands-on expertise: Experience with steel, precast, and excavation operations strongly preferred due to our self-performed work
  • Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams
  • Communication strength: Clear, confident interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to influence at all levels

What to Expect on the Job

  • Active field presence: Majority of time spent on jobsites in fast-paced environments
  • Varied conditions: Work outdoors and in changing weather and site conditions
  • Travel requirements: Frequent local travel; limited overnight travel may be needed
  • Direct engagement: Regular interaction with field employees, project leadership, clients, and safety partners

Why Join Us

  • Work on mission-critical builds: Projects shaping the future — from data centers to advanced healthcare and life science facilities
  • Greater influence through self-perform work: More insight, control, and collaboration around jobsite safety and operations
  • Safety is a core value: A company that prioritizes safety as culture, not compliance
  • Grow as a leader: Develop your skills while mentoring the next generation of safety professionals
  • Make a visible impact: Have a voice in company-wide safety strategy and improvements

Benefits:

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual merit increases and bonuses
  • Comprehensive Health and Dental Insurance: For you and your family
  • Coverage for the Unexpected: Including Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Supplemental Insurance, and Life Insurance
