We’re currently seeking an innovative professional to join our growing VDC team. The VDC Coordinator will support all VDC operations and collaborate with internal Danis departments throughout the entire construction process. This includes training project teams on new software, managing documents and models, coordinating BIM workflows, and utilizing drone and laser scanning technologies. You’ll also contribute to construction modeling and help integrate emerging technologies that drive project success — while assisting with design support for our design/build pursuits when needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Support and manage VDC engagement and BIM coordination on all projects.
  • Implement project-based workflows per scope requirements and current VDC initiatives.
  • Provide continual BIM management on all projects.
  • Implement and provide Project Coordination workflows
    • Manage Coordination documentation, schedule, and workflow.
    • Lead Internal and External Coordination Meetings.
    • Identify and support additional Coordination modeling efforts.
    • Maintain federated coordination model/workspace.
    • Lead Coordination effort to support Danis Self-Perform work.
  • Develop and engage staff in continuous mentoring and training opportunities to leverage VDC strategies on their projects.
  • Present corporate VDC initiatives both internally and externally to support the corporate brand and represent Danis as a leading expert in VDC.
  • Create VDC content to support all phases of a project.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with producing and analyzing Reality Capture deliverables.
  • Help research and develop industry leading technologies, workflows and practices to advance corporate VDC initiatives.
  • Develop and manage VDC metrics across corporate departments and projects to measure success of various VDC initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • 2–3 years of experience with VDC initiatives and projects.
  • Mastery of model creation to support various phases of a project in multitude of software platforms.
  • Knowledge of the various design phases and the work/information required to complete each.
  • A strong understating of construction workflows, production cycles and priorities.
  • Exhibits a high level of competency in relevant design and construction computer programs, including but not limited to:
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud
    • Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
    • Autodesk Assemble
  • Ability to handle multiple, ongoing complex projects and to be able to prioritize each project’s needs to fulfill project requirements.
  • Enjoys mentoring, training, and supporting project team members across multiple projects to help each team member achieve maximum potential.
  • Available to travel to regional offices to coordinate and implement corporate VDC initiatives.

Working Conditions:

The VDC Coordinator will spend much of their time working in an open office environment or at a project specific job trailer. Occasionally, we will be working outside performing site-specific activities that include light lifting and climbing ladders and stairs.
